Glenwood Success Story: More to Come?

Lobby at Barclay Tower
The popularity of Glenwood Management’s Barclay Tower has lead to great expectations for their new project, Emerald Green. Glenwood has recently been highlighted on a number of real estate sites for their ability to sustain in the struggling real estate market. Citing their smart choice to focus on rentals rather than condominiums, they have decided to go for gold.

It is easiest to understand why the management group is so popular by looking at one of their most successful buildings, Barclay Tower. The 58 story high rise is the standout of Tribeca. What makes it unique is that unlike other Tribeca buildings that cater to young, trendy residents with art deco style; Barclay Tower blends Upper East Side opulence and privacy.

The lobby and other community spaces are outfitted with aquamarina marble floors, French chiseled limestone walls and handcrafted Italian gargoyles that sit atop the 3-story colonnade entrance. Even though each Glenwood building has its own touch Barclay Tower fits the mold when it comes to standard building amenities. A children’s playroom, movie screening room, library, billiards and lap pool are the standard Glenwood package.

Their new building, Emerald Green, is planned to trade the marble and bronze moldings for solar panels and garden courtyards. The environmental focused rental will be located in Midtown West on 8th avenue. One thing the management group has always relied on is quality design and location. The 8th avenue location will place them slightly closer to area essentials such as Penn Station and Times Square. The building will also be close to Hudson Yards, the soon to be revitalized section of the city. With the city pouring billions into the Hudson Yards project, area advertising will handle itself while Emerald Green will sit back and wait for eager young professionals to flock.
