Restaurants Reaction Leaves Ortiz Feeling 'Salty'

As a salt lover myself, the recent proposal to ban salt from NYC restaurants is ridiculous. Representative Felix Ortiz of Brooklyn introduced Bill A. 10129 recently which states, "No owner or operator of a restaurant in this state shall use salt in any form in the preparation of food for consumption by customers".Ortiz later stated that the bill is to prevent only additional salt added after preparation.
While the representative stumbles over his words, Lower Manhattan restaurant owners are sounding off. Chef John DeLucie of Waverly Inn admits that salt is an issue with fast food but when dealing with fine dining, excessive salt is not an issue.

As chef Tom Colicchio of Craft abruptly puts it, if you wanted food without salt simply venture to a hospital and taste their food.

About This Blog

As a full-time graduate student, real estate agent, and competitive boxer, I saw the need for a blog detailing experiences in different neighborhoods across New York City. A New York resident, born and raised I recently sought out to explore NYC and document what stood out to me in each and every featured neighborhood, including that ever so important residence in which you lay your head. Follow me and you just might find out some very helpful information. Stay Tuned.
