Brooklyn has always stood on its own two feet when it comes to Big Apple notoriety. With area attractions of Junior’s Cheesecake, the boardwalk of Coney Island and Prospect Park; Brooklyn has built itself a reputation of tough talking, working class, “Fugetaboutit” New York. In recent years, the borough has been giving Manhattan a run for its money in the luxury rental market. The attention that many Manhattanites have been giving it has not gone unnoticed.
Upon the Downtown Brooklyn rental boom, developers like Forest City Ratner and the Clarett Group have snatched up land for luxury high rises and the millions of dollars hipsters are willing to spend. One building in particular has caught the attention of many Brooklynites. At 40-stories tall, Brooklyn Gold was one of the first buildings to overshadow some of the charming Brooklyn brownstones.
While Brooklyn Gold no longer holds the title as the tallest in the downtown area, it still attracts many tenants. Located in the general Downtown Brooklyn area, it lies closest to Commodore Barry Park. Downtown has a host of hipster and college crowd attractions including BAM, the shops of Fulton Street and the entrance of the Brooklyn Bridge running paths.
Brooklyn Gold houses its own unique set of attractions as well. The sky-lit indoor pool and outdoor sky gardens are completed by BBQ areas for hosting. The amenity set evokes the neighborhood feel for which
Brooklyn is known. What also manages to evoke the true Brooklyn feel is the rent. Studios start at about $1,530 and one-bedrooms around $1,665 not including incentive offers. The units show off their value as they are equipped with built-in surround sound speakers and ipod docking stations for music lovers. With 510 units throughout the two buildings, many have inspiring Manhattan views, private terraces or balconies.
Brooklyn Gold is a great alternative to many of the Manhattan luxury buildings. Being only one stop from Manhattan, Downtown Brooklyn provides the best of both. Cultures rooted throughout Brooklyn always
provide a host of great food, festivals and visual art. Just a short ride away, young professionals can rejoin the hustle and bustle of FiDi or popular Soho boutiques. With reasonable pricing, city views, and open spaces; graduate students, young professionals and hipsters alike can join the melting pot known as Brooklyn.
