One of A Kind Finds near Downtown Brooklyn

Inside view of the Brooklyn Indie Market

Every Saturday and Sunday you can travel to Carroll Park for unique items at the Brooklyn Indie Market. The indie market has a wide variety of items from handcrafted natural beauty products to handpicked jewelry from small shops around the world.

All of the designers present must have some aspect of their goods made by them so you are sure to find one of a kind steals.
The best of the market is that many of the designers have varied backgrounds which they bring to their work.

Tree Pillows by designer Andy Kopsa outside the market
Vendor Andy Kopsa infuses her "Iowa farm girl" background with New York City imagry to create unique housewares such as tree pillows. Designers, Via Nativa, have a more international concern. The social conscious group hunts down artisan crafted  and ethically produced pieces throughout Latin America.  Many items are of reclaimed wood and everything is  a fair trade item.

With such a blend of inspirations for their designs, the weekend event will leave most with great new items for their home or fashion ensemble. The  event also has food vendors with baked goods of childhood favorites to keep you fueled throughout your shopping.

About This Blog

As a full-time graduate student, real estate agent, and competitive boxer, I saw the need for a blog detailing experiences in different neighborhoods across New York City. A New York resident, born and raised I recently sought out to explore NYC and document what stood out to me in each and every featured neighborhood, including that ever so important residence in which you lay your head. Follow me and you just might find out some very helpful information. Stay Tuned.
