FiDi Events: 2nd Annual WTC Run To Remember

As 9/11 has become somewhat of a commemorative holiday many people take place in the 2nd Annual World Trade Center Run/Walk to Remember. First responder teams, families of victims and New Yorkers in general join together to honor the memory of friends and families lost. 

Free ferries will run from FiDi to Governor's Island for the event on September 5th. The competitive 5k run begins at 10AM with runners receiving personalized bibs and event t-shirts. The bibs can be personalized with family names, friends or
anyone who a runner is racing in honor of.

In addition to the 5k run, there is a non-competitive run/walk and children's fun run beginning shortly after. Funds raised at the event will go towards multiple organizations including the September 11th Families' Association, National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center and Tuesday's Children. Family entertainment and remembrance services will be held before and after the running events as well.
