Feature Building: The Verdesian

The Verdesian has been added to the list as one of the city's first green living residences. Developed by the Albanese Organization, the Verdesian has followed in the footsteps of their other green initiatives including The Solaire and Visionaire. Located in the Battery Park City section of lower Manhattan, the building has 252 units and is designed by SLCE Architects of Chelsea Towers and the German Mission at the UN. The green elements used in any building (if they want that claim to fame) must meet the standards of the United States Green Building Council. With their centrally filtered water system, high grade merv-12 air filters and EnergyStar appliances, the Verdesian has gained their LEED platinum status.

The environmentally friendly building blends in well with the quaint neighborhood.

About This Blog

As a full-time graduate student, real estate agent, and competitive boxer, I saw the need for a blog detailing experiences in different neighborhoods across New York City. A New York resident, born and raised I recently sought out to explore NYC and document what stood out to me in each and every featured neighborhood, including that ever so important residence in which you lay your head. Follow me and you just might find out some very helpful information. Stay Tuned.
