The Verdesian has been added to the list as one of the city's first green living residences. Developed by the Albanese Organization, the Verdesian has followed in the footsteps of their other green initiatives including The Solaire and Visionaire. Located in the Battery Park City section of lower Manhattan, the building has 252 units and is designed by SLCE Architects of Chelsea Towers and the German Mission at the UN. The green elements used in any building (if they want that claim to fame) must meet the standards of the United States Green Building Council. With their centrally filtered water system, high grade merv-12 air filters and EnergyStar appliances, the Verdesian has gained their LEED platinum status.
The environmentally friendly building blends in well with the quaint neighborhood.
